Plaid Friday Seacoast is a celebration of our unique and creative locally owned businesses here on the Seacoast– a rejection of big box store Black Friday.

Every dollar spent at a locally owned, independent business generates 2-3 times more economic activity in our communities than a dollar spent at a national chain. With American shoppers projected to spend upwards of $800 per person this year during the holiday season, that could give our local economy a huge boost!

Last year, hundreds of community members and businesses participated in Plaid Friday on the Seacoast by wearing plaid, shopping local… and taking selfies.

Contact us if you are a business owner with ideas for this year’s PF on Friday November 29 or if you’re a Seacoast resident who wants to organize an event in support of our independent businesses!

Who else celebrates Plaid Friday? All across the country, downtown communities and local-first organizations support their independent businesses on this day. Follow Plaid Friday on Facebook to follow the campaign across the nation.
